Side effects
Pure extract of liquorice contains high levels of glycyrrhizin and can cause mineralocorticoid reactions in the form of water and sodium retention, potassium excretion and increase in blood pressure. However, these adverse reactions are not often seen with D-Reglis, as the level of glycyrrhizin in the liquorice extract is lowered from 30% to 3% through hydrolysis. If this medicine is used over long periods (more than 6 consecutive months), it may cause side effects; however, having two drug-free weeks would alleviate the above-mentioned reactions.
Also, in some cases may cause nausea, vomiting and headache.

Use during pregnancy and lactation:

NOT to be taken during pregnancy and lactation.

Product ID:
4750956176234914
Mechanism of Action:
The therapeutic effect of liquorice is as a result of its various flavonoids. Flavonoids in this medicine prevent metabolism of prostaglandins which increase the level of prostaglandins in the upper digestive tract.  Prostaglandins, on the one hand, decrease acid secretion from parietal cells and, on the other hand, provide a protective coating for the digestive tract mucosal cells by increasing excretion of mucosa and bicarbonate.
Active Ingredients and Components :
D-Reglis tablet contains at least 380 mg standardized dry extract of liquorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra L.). The level of glycyrrhizin in the extract is lowered to less than 3%.
