Administration and Dosage:
- As Laxative:
o Children 6-12 years: 1 tablet daily.
o Adults: 1-2 tablets daily.
- As purgative:
o Children 6-12 years: 2 tablets daily.
o Adults 2-4 tablets daily.
It is recommended to be Consumed along with 6-8 glasses of water before bed.

Drug interactions:
- This product changes urine color and increases urinary pH, may interact with diagnostic laboratory tests (such as measurement of urine urobilinogen and estrogen measurement by Cooper method).
- Products containing Senna interact with blood potassium lowering drugs such as thiazide diuretics, adrenocorticosteroids, licorice root, cardiac glycosides, antiarrhythmic drugs, and possibly cause cardiac and nerve-muscle disorders.
- SenaLax prevents estrogen absorption and decreases its serum level.
- Indomethacin and nifedipine decrease therapeutic effects of SenaLax.

Storage:
- Store in a dry place, keep away from direct sunlight and below 30°C.
Contraindications and precautions:
- Children below 6 years, Intestinal obstruction, unknown rectal bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, appendicitis, anal prolapse and hemorrhoid.
- Avoid taking this product more than 10 days continuously.

Mechanism of Action:
The therapeutic properties of senna are due to the anthraquinone glycosides (sennoside A and B). Sennosides A and B are converted into active metabolites by colon’s bacteria, as a result, they increase peristaltic contractions and fluid secretion in the colon. Furthermore, increasing the synthesis and secretion of prostaglandins, in the colon.
Histamine and 5-hydroxytryptamine in senna also have a purgative effect. Coriander in this product decrease gastrointestinal spasms.
Active Ingredients and Components :
+Senna (Cassia angustifolia L.), 0.46 g.
+Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.),0.007 g.
⁎Each tablet standardized based on approximately 10 mg total sennosides as sennoside B.
Side Effects:
- Long term use and high doses of this drug cause intestinal dysfunction, diarrhea, dehydration and electrolytes loss, especially potassium.
- High doses of senna can cause nephritis, hematuria (blood in urine) and albuminuria (protein in urine).
- It has been observed that long term use of anthraquinone laxatives, may cause melanotic pigmentation of intestinal mucosa (melanosis coli) that will be disappear 4 months after discontinue consuming drug.
- Long term use of anthraquinone laxatives may cause dependence.
