Purgative of (the humor) bile, expulsor of burnt humors and emollient, tranquilizer of the intense heat of the liver and alleviator of its tumefaction.

Mechanism of Action:
Cotoneaster is an osmotic laxative. It contains mainly mannitol, and as mannitol is only minimally absorbed from the GI tract, this product has emollient and, in higher doses, laxative effects. The active ingredients in Cotoneaster, especially mannitol, cause optical and structural isomers of bilirubin, which have formed due to light, to enter the intestines and be expelled through defecation. In other words, by disrupting the intestine-liver cycle of bilirubin, these components reduce bilirubin levels in infants.
Active Ingredients and Components :
Asterubin drop contains Cotoneaster discolor pojark. Each ml of the drop contains around 300 mg mannitol.
