Administration and Dosage:

Adults: Three times daily, each time 25 drops with a glass of water.

Drug interactions:

•   Avoid concurrent use of this medicine with digoxin, heparin and lithium.
•   Concurrent use of this drug with some diuretic drugs, ant gout drugs, Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) drugs such as captopril, angiotensin receptor blocker drugs such as losartan, phenytoin and diabetic patients should be monitored by a professional healthcare.
•   Concurrent use with corticosteroids is not recommended.

Contraindications and precautions:

When NOT to take it
• This drug is contraindicated in children younger than 12 years old, patients who have edema due to impaired heart and kidney function, peptic ulcer and individuals with history of allergy to the active substance or any of the other ingredients.

Thing you must do
• Precipitation in herbal solution does not reduce its therapeutic effect. Shake bottle well before use.

Side effects
Side effects following the proper administration of designated therapeutic dosages are not recorded. But taking higher doses may cause gastric distress (such as diarrhea and gastric irritation) and electrolyte disturbances.

Mechanism of Action:

Horsetail contains ions and sugars which acts similar to osmotic diuretic drugs and increases the osmolarity of the filtered fluid from glomeruli, facilitates the excretion of water and also can inhibit the reuptake of water and salts. Furthermore, it can increase urinary excretion by stimulating of the urinary system.

Active Ingredients and Components :

Diurin drop is made from standardized hydro-alcoholic extract of the aerial parts of Horsetail (Equisetum arvense L.). The plant is 20 to 60 cm high. It commonly occurs in damp and open woodlands, pastures, arable lands, roadsides, disturbed areas, and near the edge of streams and appears in early spring. Horsetail grows throughout Europe, north of Iran, Asia and also found in the Himalayas. It is used as an herbal drug in Europe and China. Horsetail is called silica due to its high silica content. Each 100 ml of drop contains around 16-18 mg total flavonoids as Hyperoside.
