Administration and Dosage:

Adults: 10 drops, three times a day. It is better to dilute the medicine with some water before use.

Drug interactions:

Concurrent use of Pasipay drop with antiplatelet and anticoagulant drugs may cause bleeding.

Concurrent use of Pasipay drop with Sedatives such as benzodiazepine, tricyclic antidepressants and antihistamines may increase the amount of drowsiness caused by some drugs.

Concurrent use of Pasipay drop with Mono Amino Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) may increase the effect of drugs.

Contraindications and precautions:

•   Children under 12 years old.
•   Due to the presence of alcohol in the medication, it should be used with caution in patients with history of gastrointestinal diseases.
•   This medicine may cause drowsiness, so driving or working with tools that require full alertness should be avoided.
•   Avoid taking this drug if you are allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients.
•   Due to lack of safety data, avoid using more than the recommended dosage or for long-term use.

Side effects
• This drug may cause mild gastrointestinal problems (such as diarrhea and abdominal cramps) and also in case of over dose may cause extreme drowsiness.

Use during pregnancy and lactation:

Avoid taking this drug during pregnancy and lactation.

Mechanism of Action:

Flavonoids, alkaloids and sugars are the effective components of Pasipay drop in treatment of anxiety. Chrysin is the most important flavonoids in passion flower that have agonistic effect on benzodiazepine receptors in the brain, and by inhibiting GABA catabolizing enzymes, increase GABA concentration and consequently decrease the activity of CNS and cause sedation and generate anti-anxiety effects. The most important alkaloids in passion flower are harman and harmaline that inhibit the activity of Mono Amine Oxidase (MAO) enzyme and cause sedation. Maltol and Ethylmaltol are the sugars in passion flower herb that might have sedative effects on the CNS.

Active Ingredients and Components :

Pasipay drop is made from the standardized extract of passion flower (Passiflora incarnata L.). Each 100 ml of this drop contains: 11-15mg Total Flavonoids as Hyperoside.
