Sena-Gragh
Complete evacuation of colon before Radiography, Colonoscopy or Surgery.
The doses of drug is calculated based on body weight:
• If the patient is less than 60 kilogram: 1 ml syrup per kilogram body weight,
• If the patient is 60 kilogram or over: the whole bottle should be used.
Take the drug on a day prior to radiography or sugary at around 2- 4 pm along with 6-8 glasses of water or more.
This product is made from high quality local and imported herbs organically planted and harvested. It has been formulated by Iran Darouk Pharmaceuticals.
• Products containing Senna interact with blood potassium lowering drugs such as thiazide diuretics, adrenocorticosteroids, liquorice, cardiac glycosides, antiarrhythmic agents and their concomitant use may cause cardiac and nerve-muscle disorders.
• Sena-Graph syrup prevents absorption of estrogen and decreases its serum level.
• Nifedipine decreases the efficacy of Sena-Graph syrup.
• It may interact with diagnostic laboratory tests, (such as measurement of urine urobilinogen and estrogen measurement by Cooper method).
• Sena-Graph syrup may change urine color to red if urine is alkaline and to brown when urine is acidic.
Store below 25°C, keep away from direct sunlight and avoid freezing.
Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Disposal
Do not put into sewer lines. Dispose in the everyday rubbish bin.
When NOT to take it
• Children under 10 years old
• Intestinal obstruction or stenosis
• Colic pain and Rectal bleeding with unknown origin
• Inflammatory bowel disease
• Appendicitis
• Anal prolapse and hemorrhoids
Side effects
Except diarrhea and stomach cramps (which are natural side effects of this medicine), no special adverse effects have been reported. Also, this drug can change urine color.
NOT to be taken during pregnancy and lactation.
