Crataegus
Cardiac Arrhythmias stages I & II
Tablet: 2 tablets twice daily, preferably with a meal.
Drop: initial dose: 60-70 drops, 3 times a day for the first 3-4 days.
Maintenance dose: 25 drops, 3 times a day.
This product is made from high quality local and imported herbs organically planted and harvested. It has been formulated by Iran Darouk Pharmaceuticals.
• Since Crataegus has antiarrhythmic effects similar to class III antiarrhythmic drugs (potassium channel blockers such as Amiodarone), therefore concurrent use of these drugs with Crataegus is not recommended.
• Since Crataegus has interaction with Cisapride therefore it should not be taken concurrently with this medicine.
• Crataegus may have additive inotropic effects when used with cardiac glycoside drugs such as digoxin.
• Concomitant use with anticoagulants and antiplatelet may increase the risk of bleeding.
Store in a dry place, below 25 °C and keep away from direct sunlight.
Keep out of sight and the reach of children.
Disposal
Do not put into sewer lines. Dispose in the everyday rubbish bin.
Avoid taking this drug in children younger than 12 years old, people who have a history of gastrointestinal disease and also in allergic to hawthorn.
Side effects
With the recommended dose, no side effect is reported. Higher doses can cause tachycardia, dizziness, headache, nausea, abdominal discomfort, fatigue, sweating, insomnia, agitation and skin rash. Long term use can contribute to hyperkalemia.
Avoid taking this drug during pregnancy and lactation.
